Salary: £90,000 + 10% Bonus + Excellent Benefits

Shape the Future of Wealth Management Technology

We're partnering with a leading UK wealth management organisation seeking an experienced Application Engineer with deep IRESS Xplan expertise to join a growing technology function.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an Xplan specialist to take ownership of platform enhancements, workflow optimisation and reporting improvements that directly support advisers and business users across the organisation.

The Opportunity

As the subject matter expert for Xplan, you'll be responsible for configuring, enhancing and supporting the platform, ensuring it continues to meet evolving business needs. Working within an Agile environment, you'll collaborate closely with Business Analysts, Product teams, Data Engineers and third-party vendors to deliver impactful solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain IRESS Xplan solutions and configurations
  • Develop and enhance Xplan workflows and user journeys
  • Create and modify Xmerge templates, reports and client documentation
  • Partner with Business Design Analysts to translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Support deployments and system integrations across complex environments
  • Drive continuous improvement of reporting outputs and platform functionality
  • Assist with environment refreshes, rebuilds and issue resolution
  • Work closely with stakeholders across Technology and the business
  • Contribute to Agile ceremonies, sprint planning and retrospectives

We're keen to speak with candidates who have:

  • Proven commercial experience working with IRESS Xplan
  • Strong expertise in Xmerge development and workflow configuration
  • Experience customising Xplan interfaces and reporting solutions
  • Knowledge of financial advice or wealth management processes
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • A structured, analytical approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving
  • Experience working within Agile delivery teams

Desirable Experience

  • Python or JavaScript development
  • Power BI, Alteryx or Snowflake
  • Wealth management, private banking or financial planning environments
