Help organisations modernise, transform and unlock the value of their Gen applications
At TXP, we're specialists in helping organisations maximise the value of their technology investments. As demand for our Gen expertise continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced Gen Consultant to join our team and play a key role in delivering modernisation, upgrade, re-platforming and transformation projects for some of the UK's most complex application estates.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Gen specialist who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working directly with clients and helping shape the future of enterprise applications. Whether supporting Gen upgrades, application re-architecture initiatives, modernisation programmes or strategic consulting engagements, you'll be at the forefront of helping organisations evolve their critical business systems.
The Role
As a Gen Consultant, you'll be a trusted advisor to clients, providing technical leadership and consultancy across a range of programmes and initiatives. You'll work closely with customers to understand their challenges, design solutions and lead successful delivery outcomes.
You'll be involved in:
- Advising clients on Gen strategy, application modernisation and system re-architecture.
- Delivering Gen upgrades, re-platforming projects and transformation initiatives.
- Evaluating existing applications and recommending improvements.
- Designing prototypes and proof-of-concepts to demonstrate future solutions.
- Managing delivery activities and ensuring successful project outcomes.
- Building strong relationships with clients and acting as a key point of contact throughout engagements.
- Supporting proposals, RFPs, ITTs and business development activities.
- Contributing to the ongoing development of TXP's modernisation capabilities and technical solutions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
