Location: Hybrid – Warwick, Warwickshire (approximately 2 days per month in the office)
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 + excellent benefits
Job Type: Permanent

We're recruiting for an Application Security Engineer to join a growing security team responsible for strengthening the organisation's cloud and application security capabilities. Whether you're already working within application security or have gained experience across Azure and security in another technical role, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise, with full support and training provided.
You'll play a key role in identifying, assessing and integrating applications into secure cloud environments, helping to improve the organisation's overall security posture through modern security tooling, cloud-native technologies and best practice.

- Identify, assess and integrate applications and assets into appropriate security platforms.
- Support the continuous improvement of application and cloud security across Microsoft Azure environments.
- Work with security testing tools, including Static Application Security Testing (SAST), Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scanning.
- Help implement and maintain application security controls and cloud-native security capabilities.
- Manage and support security technologies including Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), secure logging and proxy filtering solutions.
- Collaborate with technical teams to embed security throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Promote security best practices and contribute to a strong security-first culture.
About You
We're flexible on experience and are keen to hear from candidates who have a genuine interest in cloud security and Azure. If you have a solid technical foundation and some experience within security, our client is happy to provide further training and development.
Ideally you'll have experience with:
- Microsoft Azure and cloud security principles.
- Security-focused roles or responsibilities within IT or software development.
- Security testing tools including SAST, DAST and IaC scanning.
- Application security frameworks such as OWASP.
- Security standards including ISO 27001 and NIST.
- One or more programming languages such as Java, C#, Python or JavaScript.
- Security technologies including WAF, IDS, secure logging and proxy filtering.
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Security or a related discipline would be advantageous, although relevant commercial experience is equally valued.
