Application Specialist – Sectra (UK & Ireland)

Sectra, a world-leading provider of IT systems for managing medical images, is seeking an Application Specialist based in the UK & Ireland. We empower healthcare systems to deliver more efficient diagnostics and improved care outcomes—ensuring our products are used optimally is just as critical as their development.


About the Role

Our Application Specialists are trusted experts who optimize how our customers unlock the full potential of Sectra’s applications. Responsibilities include:

  • Training & Onboarding

    • Conducting on-site, web-based, and classroom training for customers and end users.
    • Supporting new site deployments and analysing workflow best practices.
  • Knowledge Sharing & Collaboration

    • Creating internal and external documentation to aid user adoption.
    • Working closely with Professional Services, Technical Support, and Sales to provide application expertise.
    • Delivering global training—including Radiation Dose Management System deployments in hospitals.
  • Customer Advocacy

    • Serving as the primary point of contact for all application queries from customers and internal teams.
  • Process Improvement

    • Assisting customers with workflow analysis and business process enhancements to boost efficiency.
  • Operational Support

    • Collaborating directly with customers, end-users, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless IT solutions adoption.

To succeed as our Application Specialist, we need candidates with:

Essential

  • Degree: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Radiography/Medical Physics, or equivalent with a strong academic record. OR Clinical background, such as a radiological nurse or technician, demonstrating hands-on healthcare expertise.
  • English Proficiency: Fluent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Customer service excellence (expectations are customer-focused, both internal and external).
    • Exceptional interpersonal (speaking, listening, writing) and presentation skills.
  • Passion for Healthcare IT:
    • Strong interest in usability and advancing radiological technology solutions.

Ideal (Nice-to-Have)

  • Industry Experience: Previous role as an Application Engineer or in a Radiation Protection capacity.
  • Multicultural Competency: Fluency in additional languages, experience with international teams/cultures.
  • Personal Fulfillment: Engaging in hobbies such as music, sports, or horseback riding could add a satisfying facet to team culture.
