About The Role

The Application Support Analyst role based in Taunton offers a unique opportunity to work within a dynamic and expanding IT team in a well-established professional services environment. This hybrid position involves supporting and enhancing the organisation's VisualFiles practice management system, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency. The role combines technical support with business systems development, providing a diverse and engaging workload. You will be responsible for maintaining the system, developing workflows, automating processes, and creating insightful reports and dashboards using tools such as Power BI, SQL, and Excel. Additionally, you will deliver day-to-day IT support across hardware, software, and applications, working closely with colleagues to identify areas for process improvement and implementing effective solutions. This position offers the chance to make a tangible impact on the organisation's operations while developing your technical skills in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess hands-on experience supporting and developing VisualFiles systems, ideally within a professional services setting. Proficiency in creating reports and dashboards using Power BI, SQL, and Excel is essential. Candidates must demonstrate confidence in diagnosing and resolving system or integration issues, with a solid understanding of IT support practices across hardware, software, and applications. Excellent communication skills are required to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively. Relevant certifications or training related to IT support, business systems, or data analysis will be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Support and maintain the VisualFiles practice management system, ensuring smooth operation and continuous improvement.
  • Develop, optimise, and automate workflows within VisualFiles to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Create and manage reports and dashboards using Power BI, SQL, and Excel to provide actionable insights for the business.
  • Provide comprehensive day-to-day IT support for hardware, software, and applications across the organisation.
  • Manage integrations with third-party tools and platforms to ensure seamless data flow and system functionality.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement appropriate technical solutions.
  • Diagnose and resolve system, integration, and user issues promptly, maintaining high levels of user satisfaction.
  • Maintain documentation of system configurations, workflows, and support procedures to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity.
