About The Role
Reed Technology is seeking a dedicated Software Support Analyst to join their friendly and passionate team in Taunton. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with clients and internal teams to provide ongoing support and maintenance for the company's bespoke software solutions. The successful candidate will be instrumental in troubleshooting issues, deploying projects, and ensuring the smooth operation of software applications. This position is ideal for individuals looking to develop their technical skills, particularly in software programming using C# and the MS.NET framework. The role offers a hybrid working model, combining office-based and remote work, with a standard 36.5-hour workweek.

Qualifications
- Solid understanding of Windows Server operating systems, particularly working with various versions such as Windows Server 2016 or later.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server is essential, including scripting SQL queries and creating or modifying stored procedures.
- Familiarity with APIs and Web Services is required to facilitate seamless integration and communication between different software components.
- Basic scripting skills, especially with XML, HTML, and CSS, are necessary to understand data formats and web-based technologies.
- Networking knowledge will be considered an advantage, enabling effective troubleshooting and support.
- Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to client support.
Responsibilities
- Consult with clients to understand and resolve software-related issues promptly and effectively.
- Provide technical support for bespoke software applications, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
- Assist in deploying new projects, upgrades, and installations to ensure smooth transitions and integrations.
- Collaborate with development teams to understand software functionalities and contribute to troubleshooting and enhancements.
- Participate in training sessions to learn software programming skills, focusing on C# and the MS.NET framework.
- Document support activities, issue resolutions, and client interactions for future reference and continuous improvement.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of software updates, security patches, and industry best practices.
- Contribute to the development of internal support processes and tools to improve efficiency.
