Application Support Analyst - SQL - Banking

Application Support Analyst – SQL – Banking

Join a leading international bank as our Application Support Analyst in this hands-on 2nd line support role. You’ll work within a specialist team, delivering software support for core banking applications in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.

Supporting business-critical banking systems requires a strong SQL background, Windows Server experience and the ability to troubleshoot complex application challenges. You’ll collaborate with internal teams, business users and third-party suppliers to resolve incidents efficiently.

About the Role

This application support position is responsible for:

  • Keeping banking systems operational
  • Adhering to tight SLAs (Service Level Agreements)
  • Acting as a technical bridge between developers, IT, and end-users

The team is small and invested in fostering both solutions and process improvements, meaning your contributions will create tangible impact.

Responsibilities

Incident & Reporting Management

  • Follow clear procedures for incident handover, communication, and post-resolution testing.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurrence and complete documentation of findings.

Technical Troubleshooting

  • Query databases using SQL to diagnose and resolve problems.
  • Utilize PowerShell and SFTP/WinSCP tools for remote analysis when required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
