Role Purpose
The Application Support Specialist ensures seamless technical and functional support for critical business applications, including:
- Legal Applications
- JIRA, Confluence, GitHub
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain software applications with a focus on smooth functionality
- Troubleshooting and resolving user enquiries in alignment with agreed SLAs
- Monitoring application performance for consistency
- Coordinate with developers, product managers, and operational teams
- Collaborate with end-users to deliver superior system usability
- Document standard operating procedures (SOPs), user guides, and application metrics
- Conduct training sessions to improve software adoption
- Identify system optimizations and propose enhancements
- Manage Atlassian Cloud, GitHub Enterprise Cloud, and Azure DevOps tools

Responsibilities
Core Accountabilities

Technical Support
- Resolve software queries and user issues efficiently
- Provide up-to-date system status updates

System Monitoring
- Continuously assess application performance, identifying inefficiencies
- Alert relevant teams on anomalies or downtime

Collaboration
- Develop strong working relationships with developers, system admins, and end-users
- Contribute solutions to multi-team operations and improvements

Documentation & Metrics
- Maintain architecture and reporting documentation
- Produce performance evaluations to guide decision-making

Training Delivery
- Lead training on applications—best practices, updates, and functionalities

Continuous Improvement
- Research and identify product enhancements
- Explore emerging technologies (e.g., AI, cloud tools) to recommend integration
DevOps Tools Owner
- Ensure scalable and reliable DevOps tooling
- Implement secure environments and compliance alignments
- Monitor licensing policies and operational health
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience specializing in Atlassian Cloud, GitHub Enterprise, and Azure DevOps
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience
- Proficient understanding of:
- Operating systems
- Databases and system architectures
- Experience with:
- ITSM tools (JIRA/Servicenow-, etc.)
- Version control systems (GitHub, GitLab, etc.)
- Familiarity with:
- SDLC (Software Development Lifecycle) processes
- Troubleshooting application issues with:
- Log analysis
- Diagnostic tools
- Basic scripting
- Strong technical aptitude for resolving application bugs and performance gaps

Desirable (Bonus) Experience
- Data and database fixes, including SQL/CLI-type functional support
- Exposure to regulated or clinical applications (e.g., travel healthcare, insurance)
- Knowledge of software security architectures, compliance standards, and legal frameworks
- Interest in cloud technologies (SaaS, PaaS) or emerging DevOps-related domains
