Application Support Engineer
6 month Contract Inside IR35 - intent to extend or convert to perm
Hybrid - Central London
My client, a leading Financial Services organisation are seeking an Application Support Engineer to join a fast-paced trading technology environment on a contract basis.
This is not a traditional support role. The team sits at the intersection of production support, infrastructure, automation and engineering, supporting critical trading and post-trade platforms used across global financial markets.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support Front-Office and Back-Office trading applications
- Provide 2nd/3rd line support for trading and post-trade applications
- Investigate and resolve production incidents and system issues
- Work very closely with developers, infrastructure teams, and business users
- Perform SQL-based data analysis
- Develop and maintain scripts using PowerShell or Python
Key Skills Required:
- Strong SQL skills (essential)
- PowerShell or Python scripting experience (essential)
- Background in financial services / trading environments
- Knowledge of Windows and/or Linux systems
- Experience in application or production support roles
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
