Applications Engineer / Internal Sales Executive / Technical Sales Support Engineer
Applications Engineer / Internal Sales Executive / Technical Sales Support Engineer required to join a leading engineering supplier.
The successful Applications Engineer / Internal Sales Executive / Technical Sales Support Engineer will support external sales teams and customers by preparing technical proposals, specifying pump solutions, and offering application advice across the water industry, wastewater treatment, industrial manufacturing, food & beverage, pharmaceutical, and steel sectors. This role is office-based in Peterborough with some on-site involvement when required.
The Applications Engineer / Internal Sales Executive / Technical Sales Support Engineer will ideally have experience working with pumps, rotating equipment, fluid-handling systems, or mechanical process equipment, but candidates with experience supporting any technical mechanical product, such as valves, compressors, dosing and filtration sold into the water industry will also be considered. Full product training provided.

Package
- Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 depending on experience

Applications Engineer / Internal Sales Executive / Technical Sales Support Engineer Role
- Provide technical selection and application support for pumps and mechanical equipment across water, wastewater, industrial, food & bev, pharma, and steel sectors.
- Produce quotes, proposals, and technical/commercial documents.
- Review enquiries, interpret drawings/specs, and size pumps/mechanical equipment.
- Work with suppliers, engineering, service, and external sales teams to build viable solutions.
- Advise customers on product suitability, system performance, and support basic troubleshooting.
- Maintain CRM records, manage enquiries, and support continuous improvement in internal sales.

Applications Engineer / Internal Sales Executive / Technical Sales Support Engineer Requirements
- Knowledge of pumps, rotating equipment, valves, compressors, dosing, filtration, and mechanical systems used in water, wastewater, industrial, food & beverage, pharma, and steel sectors.
- Experience in applications, internal sales, sales engineering, technical support, or project engineering.
- Ability to read engineering drawings, interpret specs, and understand performance curves.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer-facing confidence.
- Good IT and CRM skills with high attention to detail.
- Engineering qualification preferred; must be able to commute to Peterborough.
