Are you an experienced Applications Engineer, Proposals Engineer, Technical Sales Engineer, Sales Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or Project Engineer looking for a more varied and commercially focused engineering role?

This is a standout opportunity to join a global engineering business delivering highly engineered technology solutions for major customers across the energy, oil and gas, petrochemical, industrial process and power generation sectors.

You will be joining a specialist applications and proposals team, working at the front end of major engineering projects. The role will involve reviewing customer enquiries, interpreting technical requirements, selecting suitable engineered solutions, preparing quotations, developing cost estimates and supporting opportunities from initial enquiry through to confirmed order.

This is ideal for someone who enjoys technical problem-solving, customer interaction and commercially focused engineering work, rather than being in a purely design, sales or project delivery role.

What's in it for you?

  • Two bonus schemes
  • Competitive salary, dependent on experience
  • 12% employer pension contribution
  • 27 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • BUPA private healthcare
  • Medicash healthcare support
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Life insurance
  • Professional training and development opportunities
  • Opportunity to work alongside world-class engineering teams
  • Global project exposure across Europe and the Middle East
  • Potential for international travel
  • Supportive, safety-driven working culture
  • Regular social events and strong team environment
  • Long-term career development within a global engineering business
  • Permanent, full-time position

The Role

As Applications Engineer Technical Proposals, you will play a key role in developing technical and commercial solutions for customers across a range of industrial and energy-related applications.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
