Applied Physics

Applied Physics (AI Training)

About The Role

What if your deep expertise in physics could directly influence how AI understands the physical world — from quantum mechanics to thermodynamics? We're looking for PhD-level Applied Physicists to stress-test cutting-edge AI models, expose their reasoning failures, and help build systems that genuinely respect the fundamental laws of the universe.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. No prior AI experience needed — just mastery of physics and a sharp, rigorous mind.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Design advanced, open-ended physics problems at PhD qualifying exam level — requiring multi-step logical reasoning and rigorous mathematical derivation
  • Author detailed "golden response" solutions with:
    • Flawless step-by-step workings
    • Correct physical constants
    • Precise unit handling
  • Audit AI-generated simulations, proofs, and explanations for physical consistency — identifying where models hallucinate physics that violates first principles
  • Provide structured, expert feedback to improve AI reasoning around:
    • Conservation laws
    • Boundary conditions
    • Fundamental physical constraints
  • Work independently and asynchronously — fully on your own schedule

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
