About the Research & Development (R&D) Role

At JLL Research & Development (R&D), we drive the structured exploration and creation of new ideas, processes, technologies, and solutions to advance the future of real estate and property services. Our work addresses market trends, client needs, and emerging technologies, ensuring JLL leads – rather than follows – industry evolution.

As part of the Global Insight team, we’re responsible for the ‘Future Vision’ research program, where we publish foresight and scenario-driven insights to shape the real estate landscape.


The Job

We seek a researcher who thrives at the intersection of science and design, with a passion for innovation. Your role will involve:

  • Designing experiments and leading research studies with JLL employees, clients, and partners
  • Publishing JLL research papers, peer-reviewed journal articles, and translating findings into practical frameworks, tools, and intellectual property that enhance JLL’s capabilities
  • Collaborating with R&D program management and business line leadership to validate insights and business model assumptions with clients
  • Reporting to the Global Head of R&D and Partnerships

About You

You embody the "hybrid mind" – curious, analytical, yet design-led, with:

  • Scientific rigor (quantitative methods, problem-solving, data-driven thinking)
  • Design-savvy storytelling (qualitative research, user-focused insights, creative communication)
  • Proficiency in multimedia formats (video, podcasting) and presenting complex findings to C-level executives
  • Experience with scientific research reports and academic publishing (a plus)

Requirements for the Role

You leverage emerging technologies (including AI) to:

  • Enhance research, analysis, and innovation as a force multiplier

You demonstrate a relentless drive to:

  • Learn, explore, and adopt emerging ideas

What You’ll Do

Core Responsibilities

  • Design & Execute Research:
    • Conduct literature reviews, design, and manage end-to-end primary studies (recruitment to analysis)
    • Lead external research with clients, managing ethics approvals, consent forms, and IP agreements

  • Analyse & Synthesise:

    • Perform statistical and qualitative analysis to generate clear, visualised insights
    • Use AI-assisted techniques responsibly for data coding, literature reviews, and hypothesis development
  • Publish & Disseminate:

    • Author JLL research papers and academic articles
    • Translate findings into accessible formats (e.g., frameworks, tools, assessments) for both academic and business audiences
  • Collaborate & Deliver:

    • Work across global teams and external partners to support R&D programs
    • Manage timelines while ensuring data ethics, privacy, and regulatory compliance
  • Build Impact & Capability:

    • Develop internal resources and repeatable protocols to scale evidence-based practices
