As an Applied Science Technician at our Farnborough site, you’ll collaboratively develop groundbreaking materials and technologies, partnering with world-class experts to enhance experimental capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Production & manufacturing of test samples using laboratory equipment
- Conducting physical testing and evaluations of materials, assessing performance and compliance with standards
- Supporting project delivery through cross-functional collaboration with technical teams and project leads
- Maintaining laboratory equipment, stock, and quality assurance of materials
- Producing technical outputs—including data plots for reports
- Managing workload and ensuring safe laboratory practices, including adhering to risk assessments
Essential Experience & Skills
- Basic computer literacy
- Attention to detail, ensuring quality and consistency in work
- Experience working effectively in multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while balancing workload
- Adaptability to diverse laboratory/technical activities
- Fast learner with willingness to acquire new skills with minimal supervision

Essential Qualifications
- GCSE-level qualifications (or equivalent)
- Relevant vocational qualification or apprenticeship in a:
- Scientific discipline
- Engineering field
- Technical sector
- Evidence of continued professional development or commitment to further training
