Opportunity for Non-Native English Speakers with Strong Numeracy Skills
An opportunity for candidates whose first language is not English with good numeracy skills. It offers a supportive pathway into the accounting, helping you gain experience while studying.
Duties
- Trial balance
- Dealing with invoices
- Setting up and updating cash flow report
Wage
- £14,560 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age
- National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices
- Minimum wage rates: £9,609.60 to £18,964.40 a year
Training Course
- Accounts or finance assistant (level 2)
Hours
- Monday to Friday, between 9.00am- 5.00pm. Day release for class.
- 35 hours a week

- Setting up and updating cash flow report
- Agreed monthly reports
- Payroll Year End processing and reconciliation
- Printing of payslips
- Updating and reconciling nominal ledgers activities and transactions
- Dealing with bank postings

Understanding apprenticeship levels
What You'll Learn
- Record transactional data.
- Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
- Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
- Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
- Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
- Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
- Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.
Training Schedule
- You will gain AAT level 2 Foundation Certificate qualification
- Level 2 NVQ
- Accounting / Finance Apprenticeship Level 2
Apprentices without Level 1 English and maths will need to achieve this level and have taken the test for level 2 prior to taking their end point assessment

Essential Qualifications
- GCSE in:
- Maths, English (grade 5-9)
