Opportunity for Accounting Career through Apprenticeship
An ideal opportunity which helps candidates to build their future career in accounting through an apprenticeship programme.
Updating and reconciling nominal ledgers activities and transactions, updating the sales, purchase ledgers, dealing with bank postings and bank reconciliation.
You will work with our finance department and be involved in accountancy duties including:
- Setting up and updating cash flow reports
- Managing and maintaining nominal codes and coding system
- Updating and reconciling nominal ledgers activities and transactions
- Maintaining and updating the sales and purchase ledgers
- Dealing with bank postings and bank reconciliation
Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.
Course Contents
- Record transactional data.
- Use the organisation’s standard tools and processes to examine data to identify transactional issues such as, reconciliations and inconsistencies between invoices.
- Recognise and rectify routine errors, escalating as necessary.
- Plan and review accounting and finance tasks.
- Communicate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely results, avoiding jargon, using language tailored to the audience and different media methods with an appreciation of the risks and benefits to the business of social media and other digital applications.
- Use finance and accounting software packages to accurately input and manage data to contribute to routine accounting tasks.
- Handle data and digital technology in line with cyber and data security requirements, using data securely and safely, including backing up data.

Training Location
The training will take place at:
The Training Place of Excellence, 12 New Cross Road, SE14 5BE.
Classes are held one day a week.
Qualifications
You will gain:
- AAT level 2 Foundation Certificate qualification
- Level 2 NVQ
- Accounting/Finance Apprenticeship Level 2 qualification
Apprentices without Level 1 English and maths will need to achieve this level and taken the test for level 2 prior to taking their end point assessment
GCSE Requirements
- Maths, English (grade 5-9)
