Job Details
Apprenticeship Minimum Wage - 28 Days Holiday - 40 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday
If you work a Saturday you can have a day in the week off.

GTG Training are recruiting for an Apprentice Autocare Technician on behalf of an independent garage. This is a fantastic opportunity for those who are ready to advance their career within the automotive industry.
About the Role
The Modern Apprenticeship Programmes allow apprentices to work full time and earn while they learn, putting theory into practice within a training environment.
As well as attending the training centre for weekly block release training, regular assessments and reviews will be undertaken within the apprentice's own workplace. This aims to ensure they have the required skills to successfully complete their apprenticeship.
Typical Day in This Job
You will be based within the garage workshop and will be involved in learning all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance, including:

- Vehicle servicing
- MOT preparation
- Removal, replacement, and overhaul of major components
- Electrical fault diagnostics
Units Covered
- Materials, fabrication, tools, and measuring devices used in the automotive environment
- Inspection of light vehicles
- Diagnosing and rectifying chassis units and components
- Diagnosing and rectifying vehicle engines and component faults
- Ensuring your own actions reduce risks to health and safety
- Contributing to workplace good housekeeping
What Will I Learn?
Regular assessments and reviews will be undertaken within the apprentice's own workplace with dedicated mentors from GTG and the apprentice’s workplace, which aims to ensure they have the required skills to successfully complete their apprenticeship.
You will train through GTG Wolverhampton, by attending block release training weeks, to:
- Level 2 Autocare Technician
- Level 3 Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician

Qualifications or Qualities Required
- GCSE Level or above in Maths, English, and a Science or Technical subject or equivalent
Personal Qualities Required
We are looking for candidates who want to kickstart their career in the automotive industry and who are keen to learn. You must be dedicated and have a proactive approach to your work and learning. You are able to prioritize and work to timelines. A willingness to work in a practical environment using your own initiative is essential. A full UK Driving licence is not essential but preferred.
