BMS Engineer Apprentice

Location: Sheffield
Salary: Up to £25,000 (dependent on age and experience)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated BMS Engineer Apprentice to join a leading Building Management Systems specialist. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within the BMS industry, receiving full training while working alongside experienced engineers on a wide range of commercial projects.

You'll gain hands-on experience installing, servicing, maintaining and commissioning BMS systems, whilst developing the technical skills and industry knowledge required to become a fully qualified BMS Engineer.

The Role

Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll be involved in:

  • Assisting with the installation, servicing, maintenance and commissioning of Building Management Systems.
  • Learning to diagnose faults and support the maintenance of HVAC control systems.
  • Assisting with the installation and replacement of controllers, sensors, actuators and other field devices.
  • Supporting BMS panel wiring, testing and system upgrades.
  • Developing an understanding of BMS software, graphics and control strategies.
  • Working with industry-leading BMS platforms such as Trend, Tridium, Schneider Electric and similar systems.
  • Attending commercial and industrial sites to support planned maintenance, reactive works and project delivery.
  • Following health and safety procedures while developing practical engineering skills.

What We're Looking For

  • Ideally someone who has recently completed, or is about to complete, an electrical apprenticeship or recognised electrical qualifications and is looking to build a career within the BMS industry.
  • A genuine interest in electrical engineering, building controls, HVAC controls or automation.
  • A willingness to learn and develop a long-term career within Building Management Systems.
  • Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently when required.
  • Full UK driving licence (or working towards obtaining one) is desirable.
