About the Role

What you’ll do

  • Prepare, cook, and present food that meets high standards and customer expectations
  • Uphold strict hygiene and kitchen safety protocols to keep our team and guests safe
  • Communicate clearly with your team to ensure meals are delivered on time and to the highest quality
  • Stay updated on new products, menus, and promotions to inspire innovation in the kitchen

What’s included in the apprenticeship?

A blend of hands-on learning and development ensures you build skills step-by-step:

  • Monthly training catch-ups: Face-to-face sessions or Skype/phone check-ins every 4-6 weeks with your trainer for feedback and progress updates
  • On-the-job and off-the-job training:
    • Workshops and webinars focused on kitchen skills and industry best practices
    • Twelve-weekly reviews with your Line Manager and Apprenticeship Trainer
  • Tuition support:
    • If you don’t already hold qualifications, Greens King covers Functional Skills in English and maths
  • A structured 15-month programme leading to a certification:
    • You’ll complete a Production Chef Level 2 Apprenticeship
    • Progress through four specialised masterclasses as part of our Chef Academy, gaining expertise in different culinary areas
