About The Role & Our Ideal Candidate

Role Details
This ** Civil Engineering Degree Apprenticeship (Level 6)** offers an opportunity to:
- Lead meaningful highway schemes from concept to completion
- Participate in project lifecycle phases: scoping, design, procurement, construction, and site management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (planning, permitting, maintenance)
- Develop within a dynamic in-house design team of 30+ staff (including apprentices, engineers, and technicians)
The Design team includes roles such as:
- Team Lead | Principal Engineer | Senior Engineer | Graduate Engineer | Technician | Apprentice
Requirements
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for apprenticeship funding, candidates must meet all of these:
- Hold GCSE (grade C/4 or equivalent) in Maths and English, or be willing to complete:
- Functional Skills assessments as part of the programme.
- Must not apply for an apprenticeship thematically related to existing qualifications at the same or higher level (e.g., must not hold a related bachelor’s degree*).
- Not currently enrolled in another funded apprenticeship or educational scheme when starting.
Immigration & Employment Restrictions
- Must have the right to work and study in England and demonstrate:
- EU/EEA citizenship or proof of long-term UK residency (≥3 years outside education).
- Non-EEA nationals must have permanent UK residence (not for study).

The Role: Civil Engineering Apprentice
What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop core skills in highways and transportation engineering.
- Collaborate across project stages, from early planning and design to construction oversight and site visits.
- Contribute to meaningful highway and infrastructure projects that impact local communities.
- Work closely with teams in planning, procurement, permitting, and infrastructure maintenance.
You’ll join a team of 30+ professionals, including engineers, technicians, and apprentices, blending in-house expertise and cross-functional collaboration.
