Are you looking for an exciting career opportunity in engineering?
Every year, Linde Material Handling recruits a number of apprentices across the UK. During this programme, you will receive specific hands-on experience, whilst studying for a nationally recognised qualification.

Your role: Apply learning from college to real-world scenarios, demonstrating knowledge to mentors, your college assessors, and your Apprentice Development Officer (ADO). The goal is to meet customer demands through high-quality materials handling solutions.

What’s Required?
✔ Commitment to a three-year programme, culminating in an:
- Awarded Level 3 Apprenticeship in Lift Truck & Powered Access Engineering, -And full competence as a qualified Service Engineer.
Linde will provide: ✔ Support from a dedicated Mentor ✔ Training from an Apprentice Development Officer (ADO) ✔ Study and on-the-job learning through a combination of college training and practical experience
Your Apprenticeship Focus
- Inspecting, maintaining, servicing, and repairing forklift trucks
- Training in a wide range of material handling equipment (Linde products included)
⚠ Note: During blocks of college training, travel and accommodation may require overnight stays (details confirmed upon offer). Linde covers travel and meals.
Duties and Responsibilities
During your apprenticeship, you will be responsible for:
- Attending and passing all internal and external training courses
- Achieving a pass in knowledge block tests (set by the college)
- Completing the End Point Assessment for Level 3 in Lift Truck & Powered Access Engineering
- Passing internal assessments covering:
- Workplace safety
- Product knowledge
- Diagnostic tool proficiency
- Completing e-Portfolio projects on time, adhering to college and ADO standards
- Meeting online test deadlines within two allowed resits if necessary
- Developing practical skills, including:
- Preventative maintenance
- Equipment repairs
- Diagnostic troubleshooting on Linde product lines

To succeed, you must demonstrate: ✔ Enthusiasm for engineering—came conviction to learn ✔ Passion for quality work, showcasing pride in output ✔ Adaptability and teamwork to adjust to changing needs ✔ Ability to represent the Linde brand with integrity ✔ Strong engagement skills with colleagues and customers ✔ A ‘can-do’ attitude, emphasising positive problem-solving
Entry Requirements
To be considered for this apprenticeship:
✅ Have a GCSE Grades 4+ (or equivalent, e.g. National 5 in Scotland) in:
- Maths
- English (or predicted grades if returning to study)
✅ Essential requirement: An interest in engineering and technology
✅ Must hold a Full UK Driver’s Licence
