Destec Engineering Limited Apprenticeship
Destec Engineering Limited is seeking an enthusiastic apprentice to join their engineering team, specialising in the design and manufacture of clamp connectors, subsea pipe connectors, seal rings and boiler inspection caps. You will be trained across engineering, with a focus on manufacturing and maintenance of equipment.
Duties
Duties will include, but will not be limited to:
- Inspection and testing and drawings understanding.
- Working with the team to ensure Non-destructive testing is completed per requirements and timelines.
- Basic appreciation and understanding of LPV, MPF, LPF.
- Basic understanding of NDT equipment and procedures, including calibration and consumable requirements.
- Operating a variety of machines (CNC or Conventional); for assembling and repairing machine and press tools.
Apprenticeship Details
Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

Engineering operative (level 2)
Understanding apprenticeship levels (opens in new tab)
The Apprentice will work towards their Apprenticeship Standard in Level 2 Engineering operations (Manufacturing and Maintenance pathway).
The successful candidate will be assigned a dedicated assessor who will provide support and guidance throughout the course.
This is a Day Release programme which means you will attend Lincoln college 1 day a week, term time only. This will fall within your contracted working hours.

- GCSE in:
- English and Maths (grade A*/9 – C/4)

Please note that our site is located out of town. Candidates, particularly those who do not drive, should ensure they can reliably travel to and from the workplace.
We design and manufacture clamp connectors, subsea pipe connectors, seal rings, and boiler inspection caps. We also provide on-site machining services, including milling, bolt tensioning, line boring and inspection services. We work across the water, power generation, offshore, and energy sectors.
