Apprentice Facilities Co-ordinator
Location: Melton (near Hull, HU14 3HJ)
Salary: National Minimum Wage (age dependent) + 30 days holiday + pension + staff discount across Heron Foods & B&M

As an Apprentice Facilities Co-ordinator, you'll support our Facilities team to help keep our stores operating safely and efficiently. You'll learn how maintenance and repairs are managed across hundreds of stores, working closely with colleagues, contractors, and store teams to ensure issues are resolved quickly and effectively.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in facilities management while developing valuable administration, communication and organisational skills.

About The Role
You'll be part of our Facilities team, helping to support the maintenance and operation of over 340 stores across the UK.
Working alongside experienced Facilities Managers and Co-ordinators, you'll learn how maintenance issues are managed from initial request through to completion, helping to keep our stores safe, compliant and operational.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Logging maintenance requests from stores and prioritising jobs
- Using our CAFM (Computer Aided Facilities Management) system to raise and update maintenance tasks
- Allocating jobs to approved contractors and monitoring progress
- Liaising with stores, contractors and colleagues to provide updates on repairs
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring documentation is up to date
- Supporting the Facilities team with administrative tasks and reporting
- Monitoring job completion and helping ensure service level agreements are achieved
- Learning about planned maintenance, reactive repairs and statutory compliance requirements
- Providing general support to help stores remain operational and deliver great customer service

What You'll Need
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong communication skills
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Confidence using computers and learning new systems
- A proactive and flexible approach to work
- Good problem-solving skills
- A desire to develop a career within Facilities, Property or Business Support
Qualifications
- Good standard of English and Maths
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel (desirable but not essential)
