Following the completion of our £20 million redevelopment, Basingstoke Golf Club is looking to recruit an enthusiastic Apprentice Greenkeeper to join our ambitious and progressive Course Management team.
This is a rare opportunity to begin your career on a newly constructed championship golf course, working alongside experienced professionals who are committed to producing exceptional playing conditions every day. Our course features USGA specification creeping bent grass greens, a state-of-the-art irrigation system, modern maintenance equipment and a long-term commitment to investing in both the golf course and our people.
As an Apprentice Greenkeeper, you will receive first-class on-the-job training while completing a fully funded Level 2 Golf Greenkeeper Apprenticeship. You will gain hands-on experience in all aspects of golf course maintenance and develop the skills required for a rewarding career within the sports turf industry.

Working as part of the Course Management team, you will assist with:
- Daily preparation of the golf course to the highest presentation standards
- Mowing and maintaining greens, tees, fairways and rough
- Bunker preparation and maintenance
- Course set-up, including changing holes and tee markers
- Irrigation operation and maintenance
- Aeration, topdressing and seasonal renovation works
- Machinery cleaning and basic maintenance
- Tree, woodland and environmental management
- Working safely and professionally within a high-performing team
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has a genuine passion for working outdoors
- Wants to build a long-term career in greenkeeping and sports turf management
- Is enthusiastic, motivated and eager to learn
- Takes pride in producing high-quality work
- Has excellent timekeeping and a strong work ethic
- Works well as part of a team
- Is physically fit and prepared to work outdoors throughout the year
Previous experience is not essential—attitude, commitment and willingness to learn are far more important. Full training will be provided.
