The Vacancy
Due to continued growth in the topographical survey department, we now have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Land Surveyor to join our Hemel Hempstead team, who currently provide surveying services to support our clients in the property, civil engineering, oil and gas, nuclear, renewable energy, water and transport sectors in the UK and overseas.
The level 3 (L3) apprenticeship will involve block release to Dudley College, at the end of your programme you will receive your geospatial qualification.

Responsibilities will Include:
- Assisting our Land Surveyors in data collection though multiple practices:
- Topographical Surveys & Terrain modelling
- Measured Building and 3D scanning
- Learning to process data in survey software and finalise in AutoCAD
- Undertaking any other activities required to help our land surveyors complete their works
- Completing site documentation for site work crews
- Learning technical knowledge to further develop into a land surveying career
- Drafting data or help finalising reports.
- Other duties that may include organising equipment and store room, van checks and keeping equipment maintained.
What we are looking for:
This role will appeal to someone who is interested in starting or already started a career in the land surveying industry and someone who enjoys the variety of working outdoors and in the office. As a minimum the candidate will have strong written and verbal English skills, with GCSE’s in Mathematics and English with a good understanding of Microsoft software such as Word, Excel and Outlook. Recent graduates will be look upon favourably.
- Eligibility to live and work in the UK at the time of joining
- Candidates should be hardworking, flexible and conscientious.
- Good timekeeping, a keen attitude to work and an ability to listen to, and follow instructions
- Strong work ethic and desiring to learn new skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Reasonable IT Skills
- Flexibility of working away from home and occasionally out of hours
- Five GCSE’s grades 9-4 (A*- C) including Math’s & English
- Pass pre-employment medical which will include a Drug & Alcohol test

Advantageous
- Experience using AutoCAD.
- Already have an understand/knowledge of surveying principals.
