The selected candidate will work on landscape construction and ground maintenance contracts across the North East region. The role involves receiving and implementing instructions from a Team Leader and undertaking various tasks on construction and maintenance sites.

Responsibilities
- Working on construction sites, carrying out tasks such as implementing landscape planting schemes involving preparing areas, planting trees, hedges, shrubs, perennials, and bulbs, and installing turf and wildflower areas.
- Constructing new football pitches involving topsoiling, sand amelioration, drainage installation, and seeding.
- Working on grounds maintenance sites, carrying out tasks such as maintaining lawns, amenity areas, and sports pitches.
- Performing sports pitch renovations including aeration, top dressing, and overseeding.
- Marking out winter sports pitches and summer athletics pitches.
- Maintaining all-weather sports pitches.
- Learning and applying health and safety processes and procedures.
- Applying environmental mitigation measures including waste storage and disposal.
- Operating tools, equipment, and machinery safely.
- Communicating with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Identifying plants by scientific names.
- Maintaining correct phytosanitary and bio-security procedures.
- Identifying and reporting plant pests, pathogens, and disorders.
- Maintaining plant health, including watering and nutrition.
- Cultivating and preserving soils.
- Clearing unwanted vegetation.
- Pruning plants.
- Planting shrubs and trees.
- Installing turf.
- Mowing turf.
- Maintaining or protecting hard surfaces, features, or structures.
- Using digital tools for research, collaboration, and problem-solving.
- Measuring and setting out uncomplicated sites for landscape construction.
- Cutting hard landscape materials.
- Repairing constructed landscape features.
- Constructing paved features.
- Constructing vertical landscape features.
- Installing drainage in landscaping.
- Constructing horizontal landscape features.
- Propagating plants by cuttings and seed sowing.
- Providing aftercare to newly installed and established turf.
- Monitoring and controlling plant pests, pathogens, and disorders.
- Planting herbaceous and seasonal plants.
- Pruning plants for healthy growth and form.
