About the Role
Are you highly organised, detail-focused, and passionate about supporting apprentices on their learning journey?
At Thatcham Research, we’re dedicated to developing the next generation of automotive professionals—and this role sits right at the heart of that mission. As an Apprentice Lifecycle Co-ordinator, you’ll take ownership of ensuring our apprentices enjoy a seamless, supported, and successful journey from onboarding through to completion.
This role is a blend of administration, stakeholder engagement, and learner support, where no two days are the same. You will work closely with internal teams, employers, and learners to ensure compliance, accuracy, and timely interventions.
If you thrive in a people-focused environment, value precision, and take pride in getting the details right—this could be your ideal opportunity.
Responsibilities
As an Apprentice Lifecycle Co-ordinator, you’ll:
Core Coordination & Management
- Coordinate all activities across the apprentice lifecycle, from onboarding to completion.
- Manage apprentice onboarding, including eligibility checks and compliance with ESFA requirements.
- Maintain accurate learner data across systems for funding and reporting compliance.
Progress & Support
- Monitor learner progress, identify risks early, and coordinate timely interventions.
- Act as the key point of contact for apprentices, employers, and internal teams.
Assessment & Welfare
- Coordinate learner welfare and support plans, including SEN (Special Educational Needs) requirements.
- Support end-point assessments and offboarding activities.
Reporting & Improvement
- Prepare and validate data for monthly funding claims.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of onboarding and learner processes.
Skills & Experience
To succeed in this role, we’re looking for:
- Experience in apprenticeship onboarding, education, or learner administration (or a willingness to develop these skills).
- Exceptional attention to detail when managing data.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- A proactive problem-solving approach.
- A familiarity with learner support processes and SEN identification (not mandatory but beneficial).

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
