Position Purpose:
The Apprentice Engineer would be trained up to requirements in line with the Maintenance Engineering role. The Apprentice Engineer will attend college one day a week and complete a Level 3 in Engineering in conjunction with the apprenticeship levy.
Key Job Activities:
- To observe and comply with the company safety policy and all safety notices and signs and to ensure that all work is always carried out in a safe and proper manner.
- Working towards being fully conversant with all engineering aspects of the plant.
- Working with the team to control the planned maintenance system already in place and develop the programme to ensure all maintenance works are carried out and recorded under the guidance of the Plant Manager (site specific).
- To work closely with the shift supervisors to ensure there are no conflicts with maintenance works and continued plant operation.
- Working with the team inspect, coordinate and maintain the plant maintenance documentation in conjunction with the Plant Manager.
- Working with the team to prepare and coordinate the inspection, and effect repairs if required to all statutory and non-statutory testing actions required to plant and equipment in conjunction with the manager.
- Working with the team to review and update where required or as and when necessary, site maintenance procedures (site specific).
- Working with the team to maintain the workshop area and subsequent spares availability to ensure minimum downtime.
- Working with the team to provide the Plant Manager with appropriate stock lists as and when required for audit purposes.
- To liaise with the Plant Manager on improvement initiatives for company equipment.
- To complete maintenance logs in line with company B.M.S System.

Education:
Experience (North America & LATAM):
- Required Education: High School or equivalent.
- Grade C or above in maths and English GCSE.
Experience (EMEAA):
- Level 1 or 2 in Engineering or similar.
- Willing to attend the college and complete course work practical and academically.
- Driving licence preferred.
Skills:
- Ability to listen and act on instructions.
- Willingness to attend additional training courses specific the role.
- A basic knowledge of engineering.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to read and understand written instruction.
- Basic knowledge of health and safety at work.
- Be a good communicator.
- Ability to use Microsoft packages, Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Quick to learn and maintain a professional manner.
