Job Description – Apprentice Network Engineer & Field Delivery

The Opportunity Our client is recruiting for an Apprentice Network Engineer to join their team in London / Midlands. The Level 6 Network Engineer apprenticeship programme that we are offering, will allow you to kick-start your career in an industry that is constantly evolving, dynamic and transformational. The steps you take will provide you with valuable first-hand experience, knowledge, skills and qualification to help really drive your career forward. The Position Job Title: Apprentice Network Engineer& Field Delivery Apprenticeship Course: Level 6 Network Engineer Apprenticeship Duration: 36 – 48 months Location: Field based + Regional Travel - London / Midlands Working Hours: 37.5 hours Salary: £22,000 - £24,000

Role Purpose This Level 6 Degree Apprenticeship develops the technical, professional and leadership capability required to become a Network Engineering Field Specialist. You will gain real-world engineering experience while studying toward a bachelor’s degree in digital & technology Solutions / Network Engineering, combining academic learning with hands-on technical delivery. Key Responsibilities Engineering & Technical Delivery Support installation, testing and commissioning of telecom infrastructure. Assist with fault finding and structured diagnostics. Participate in network upgrades and optimisation projects. Work across wired, wireless and transmission systems. Field Operations Attend customer and network sites. Work safely in varied environments (indoor, outdoor, rooftop). Support build and decommissioning activities. Carry out physical engineering tasks safely. Technical Development

Interpret engineering documentation and designs. Support implementation of network solutions. Learn industry standards, compliance requirements and best practice. Customer & Stakeholder Support Represent our company professionally on customer sites. Assist with service delivery and technical assurance. Support project teams in achieving delivery targets. Entry Requirements Essential: Age 18+ GCSE Maths & English (Grade 4/C or above) Level 3 qualification (A-Level, BTEC, or equivalent) Full UK driving licence (or working towards) Right to work in the UK Desirable: STEM qualification Engineering or IT experience Interest in telecommunications technology Skills & Behaviours We are looking for candidates who are: Curious and technically minded Problem-solvers who enjoy challenges Self-motivated and reliable Strong communicators Safety conscious Adaptable in changing environments Physical & Working Requirements This is an active engineering role and requires: Manual handling Working at height Site access environments Extended standing/walking Occasional lone working (post-training) Programme Structure Year 1 – Foundation Core telecom knowledge Safety training Supervised field experience Years 2–3 – Development Independent technical tasks Fault investigation Customer interaction Live project work Final Phase – Professional Competence Lead small engineering tasks Support technical improvements Mentor junior learners End Point Assessment preparation Salary & Benefits (Example Structure) Competitive apprentice salary Annual progression increases Holiday allowance Pension scheme Training and certification funding Career progression pathways Career Progression After Completion Successful apprentices may progress into: Network Engineer Senior Field Engineer Technical Specialist Project Engineer Infrastructure Design Engineer Eligibility Criteria Individuals must have a valid and eligible residency status to apply for this role.
