Apprentice Parts Technician Allied Vehicles

GTG Training are recruiting for an Apprentice Parts Technician on behalf of Allied Vehicles.


About the Role

Kick-start your career in the automotive industry as an Apprentice Vehicle Technician with the Allied Vehicles Group—earn while you learn, gain hands-on experience, and grow in this exciting field.

The Modern Apprenticeship Programmes offer a balance of work and learning, allowing you to apply theory directly in a real-workshop environment. Regular assessments and reviews ensure you develop the skills needed to complete your apprenticeship successfully.


What a Typical Day Might Look Like

As an apprentice, you’ll be based in the garage workshop, working across essential automotive tasks:

  • Vehicle repair and maintenance
  • Vehicle servicing
  • MOT preparation
  • Removing, replacing, and overhauling major components
  • Diagnosing electrical faults

Additionally, within the parts department, you’ll:

  • Receive and dispatch parts
  • Assess and respond to customer enquiries
  • Source components for technical teams and customers
  • Update inventory systems for parts tracking

What You’ll Learn

  • Foundational basic motor vehicle technology
  • Client-facing skills, including telephone and sales techniques

Qualifications & Skills

Minimum Requirements:

  • National 4 or above in English and Maths. (A qualification in admin or computer studies is preferred but not essential.)

Personal Qualities:

  • Eager ambition to launch a career in the automotive industry.
  • A dedicated, proactive approach to work and learning.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong initiative in a practical environment—no reliance on instructions!
  • A UK driving licence is preferred but not essential.
