The Pharmacy Team is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Apprentice to join their dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to earn while you learn through the Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship, gaining essential knowledge, skills, and behaviours under the supervision of registered Pharmacists. Your role will be proactive and varied—far beyond basic task-based duties like counting tablets or shelf-stacking.
You will play a crucial part in delivering pharmaceutical care to patients, working both independently and collaboratively with the team whenever needed.
About the Role
As an Apprentice Pharmacy Technician, you will:
- Be trained to support the wider Pharmacy Team under direct supervision
- Undertake a blended mix of on-the-job training and guided apprenticeship modules
- Engage in interactive workshops delivered by a dedicated NHS-approved training provider
- Receive dedicated support from both your mentor in membership and your assigned tutor throughout the programme
Key Responsibilities
You will assist in delivering high-quality patient care with a primary focus on:

Assisting in the safe and accurate preparation, supply, and dispensing of medicines

Working alongside Pharmacists and Pharmacy staff under their supervision

Engaging with patients, carers and family members

Supporting in the administration of medicines in line with clinical protocols

Undertaking simple calculations, documentation and administrative tasks

Asking questions and seeking advice where necessary

Following strictly defined systems and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance

Demonstrating professionalism, confidentiality, and empathy at all times

Skills and Competencies:
- Basic keyboard and computer skills, including an ability to use pharmacy systems such as the Novaell Medical Records System and similar computerised prescriber orders system
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to use good judgement and common sense to resolve issues with minimal supervision
- Strong time management, the ability to meet deadlines and prioritise workload effectively
- Practical problem-solving skills and professional decision-making abilities
- A professional attitude with an understanding of the ethics, legislation, and values that underpin pharmacy practice

Eligibility Requirements
To apply for this role, you must meet all of the following criteria under Apprenticeship Funding rules:
✅ You are 16 years of age or over ✅ You have resided in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for at least three full years ✅ You have a qualifying level of Maths, English and Science GCSE (Grade C/4 or higher, or equivalent) ✅ You will not be in full-time education when starting the role ✅ You have not previously undertaken a Level 3 or above Pharmacy qualification

Contract & Pay
This is a fixed-term apprenticeship for the minimum duration of the Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship programme, which will last a minimum of 24 months:
