Svitzer Marine Limited is offering an Apprentice Port Technician position based in Pembroke Dock — an outstanding opportunity to gain recognised engineering qualifications while working alongside experienced marine professionals in a busy operational environment.

This is far more than a classroom apprenticeship. Successful candidates will gain practical experience maintaining and repairing mechanical and electrical systems across a range of marine vessels including RIBs, line-handling boats, and tugs, while studying towards an Advanced Apprenticeship Framework Level 3 qualification in engineering through Pembrokeshire College.

KEY AREAS OF WORK Complete planned and unplanned maintenance and repair to RIBs, line-handling boats, barges and tugs operated by Svitzer in the port, up to and including some of the largest tugs in service anywhere in the world. Assist the Svitzer Port Technicians as may be required. This may include servicing, repairs, disassembly, reassembly and fabrication of parts. Assist the Fitter with control of the supply of equipment, spares etc via a maintenance management system. To assist, undertake and perform other duties which may be required from time to time to ensure the efficient operation of the business. What’s on offer: ⚙️ Paid practical engineering experience ⚙️ Level 3 engineering qualification ⚙️ One day per week at college with four days in the workplace ⚙️ Experience working on world-class marine equipment ⚙️ Support from experienced technicians and assessors
