Apprentice - Production (September 2026 start)

Coatings Operations Apprentice – Protective Coatings

The apprentice will learn the fundamental knowledge required to work in a protective coatings manufacturing environment and equip them for a proactive and innovative career path within the operations team. This role involves:

  • Participation in project work, production, milling, formulation, filling, labelling, dispatch, and goods receipt
  • Suggesting improvements to processes and practices
  • Learning fundamental operations, coatings development, formulation, testing, and market delivery
  • Real-world experience in an environment with highly skilled and knowledgeable professionals who will support continuous professional growth over the course of the apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

  • Play an active role in improvement activities, focusing on cost reduction without compromising quality
  • Contribute effectively to team operations by embracing a flexible approach to work practices
  • Execute assigned tasks on time, in line with specified procedures and SOP’s
  • Assist in developing and maintaining 6-S standards in communal areas
  • Take a proactive stance on process improvement, offering innovative solutions and encouraging team collaboration
  • Embrace comprehensive training for personal and team continuity
  • Promote and strengthen a positive team culture across both individual teams and the wider company
  • Ensure clear communication across teams and within departments
  • Adhere strictly to H&S and security protocols, maintaining a proactive safety culture

Eligibility & Requirements

Formal Qualifications

  • GCSE English (Language) – Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
  • GCSE Mathematics – Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
