The Apprentice Roof Tiler role is a full-time, on-site position based in the Greater Stoke-on-Trent Area. The apprentice will support experienced roof tilers in preparing roof surfaces, handling and organizing materials, and assisting with the installation of pitched roof tiles on residential and commercial projects. Day-to-day tasks include learning how to set out roof patterns, cut and fit tiles, maintain clean and safe work areas, and follow site safety procedures. The role involves working at height, using hand and power tools under supervision, and adhering to quality standards and project timelines. The apprentice will receive ongoing training to develop technical skills, industry knowledge, and an understanding of relevant regulations and best practices.
Qualifications
- Foundational skills or interest in tiling disciplines such as mosaics and ceramic work.
- Basic understanding or willingness to learn flooring and general tiling techniques.
- Interest in working with stone materials, including marble, and learning their application on roofing projects.
- Ability to work safely at height, follow instructions, and adhere to health and safety guidelines.
- Good physical fitness, manual dexterity, and ability to handle tools and materials in varying weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and willingness to learn through on-the-job training and formal instruction.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work as part of a site team.
- Full, clean driving license and access to transport are beneficial but not essential.
- CSCS card or willingness to obtain one with company support.
