About the Role
Ever wondered who ensures the UK’s most famous landmarks and structures are built safely and sustainably? At Marshalls plc, we create the foundations of the world around us. As a Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) Technician Apprentice, you’ll join an essential team ensuring our sites are safe, sustainable, and compliant with high standards every day.
This isn’t just a desktop role—you’ll work on-site, collaborating with teams across Environmental, Health, Safety, and Quality (EHSQ) while learning the ropes in a real-world manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Do
- Support safety inspections and environmental checks
- Investigate incidents and collaborate on risk assessments
- Help maintain ISO standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) and regimens
- Contribute to audits, quality testing, and training records
- Promote a safety-conscious culture across the site
- Join a 12-month structured programme with Deere Apprenticeships, blending online learning with hands-on mentoring

The Result
Successfully complete the programme, earn your SHEQ Level 3 certification, and secure a permanent position in environmental, health, and safety operations.
Requirements
To apply, you’ll need:
- At least 4 GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above, including:
- Maths
- English
- Science
- A strong work ethic and genuine interest in construction, engineering, or systems that keep places safe
- The ability to work independently or collaboratively depending on the task
- Availability for assessment in August (with potential for a September start)
