Apprentice Sign Maker

Company Description

Synergy Sign Solutions Ltd is an architectural sign company based in County Durham, specializing in the design development, manufacture, and installation of signage for major architectural projects across the UK. The company is known for providing detailed and comprehensive support to customers during the critical design development phase, working collaboratively as part of the project team. Synergy Sign Solutions focuses on translating design intent into high-quality finished signs while suggesting ways to maximize value and optimize manufacturing time. Projects are managed through a “Concept to Completion” approach, ensuring signs are delivered on time, meet agreed quality standards, and stay within budget. This provides an opportunity for team members to contribute to visible, design-led projects in a quality-focused environment.

Role Description

The Apprentice Sign Maker is a full-time, on-site role based in Gateshead, supporting the production and installation of architectural signage. Day-to-day tasks may include assisting with measuring, cutting, and assembling sign components, preparing materials, and operating basic workshop tools and machinery under supervision. The role will also involve helping with installation work on-site, following health and safety procedures, and maintaining a clean and organized workshop environment. The apprentice will learn to understand manufacturing processes, and contribute to quality checks to ensure finished signs meet project specifications. Training and guidance will be provided to develop practical skills, technical knowledge, and an understanding of the complete sign-making process from concept to installation.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
