About The Role
18 Months Fixed Term Apprenticeship
Complete a level 3 qualification for a Safeguarding Support Officer
Level 3 Apprenticeship Rates
- Under 18 years - £16,012 per annum
- 18-20 years - £21,510 per annum
- 21+ years - £24,520 per annum
The Apprentice Stay Safe Officer will be part of our Safeguarding Team and will play a vital role in helping our students to stay safe. They will support the work of the safeguarding team by taking a preventative approach to safeguarding through delivering campaigns and helping to design and create information and resources.
They will also support students where they do have a concern through drop-in sessions, one-to-one interventions, and liaison and referral to other agencies. The role is part of the Student Safeguarding and Wellbeing team, and will work across the Luminate Education Group.
What You Will Do
- Provide one-to-one safeguarding support where a student is worried about themselves or someone else.
- Record all safeguarding support on the CPOMS system or other appropriate Management Information System.
- Design and deliver awareness campaigns and specialised workshops on a range of different safeguarding topics.
- Develop and maintain resources while ensuring all content on the Student Information Hub remains current and accurate.
- Undertake mandatory training to become a Designated Safeguarding Officer as well as work towards completion of level 3 Safeguarding Support Officer Apprenticeship.
About You
- Level 2 English and Maths at grade C/grade 4 minimum or commitment to achieve this during the apprenticeship
- Willingness to complete a Level 2/3 Safeguarding qualification
- Interested in safeguarding, pastoral care, and supporting learners with additional needs, with strong empathy and relationship-building skills.
- Organised and detail-focused, with confidence using IT systems for accurate record-keeping and reporting.
- Team-focused and calm under pressure, committed to equality, inclusion, and maintaining a safe learning environment
