About This Role

Hours of work: 35.69 per week
Working pattern: Monday to Friday (inc one day college release, day to be confirmed)
Term weeks: 38 + 1 weeks school closure, minimum paid weeks of 44.6 per academic year
FTC term: 18 months

What You Will Be Doing

  • Promoting independence and resilience in our pupils and engaging them in their learning.
  • Praising and rewarding students for their efforts and achievements
  • Providing feedback to children relating to their learning progress and achievements
  • Promoting good behaviour, dealing promptly with conflict and incidents in line with policy and encouraging students to make the right choices
  • Attending to the students’ personal needs and implement related personal programmes including social, health, physical, first aid and welfare matters
  • Establishing excellent relationships with students built upon respect and consistent communication and application of our Academy standards and expectations
  • Acting as a role model
  • Assisting with the development and implementation of Individual Education Support and Plans
  • Encouraging students to interact and work cooperatively with others
  • Promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all students within the classroom
  • Working with the teacher to achieve lesson goals for all students
  • Providing objective and factual feedback and reports, as required, to the teacher, on student achievements & progress
  • Providing feedback to students on their progress and next steps in learning
  • Liaising sensitively and effectively with parents/carers gathering and reporting information as agreed with the teacher within your role and responsibility and to participate in feedback sessions/meetings with parents/carers
