Apprentice Technician

About the Role
We are seeking an eager, enthusiastic person with the desire to learn and develop their skills within our workshop. This is a generic job description encompassing the duties of technicians across several departments, working to strict ISO9001 procedures and processes.
** Skills Base**
- Good communication skills and effective team player
- Soldering and wiring of connectors and assemblies
- Understanding of technical drawings / wiring schematics
- Computer literate
- Good organisation skills, with an ability to develop creative solutions to problems
- Ability to work on own initiative

Job Responsibilities
- Assemble parts supplied in kit form, as per engineering drawings
- Prepare supplied parts for termination and encapsulation
- Carry out electrical terminations and splices through soldering and mechanical processes
- Carry out fibre optic terminations in line with defined processes
- Mix and cast a variety of Polyurethane, Polyethylene, and epoxy resins
- Interpret technical engineering drawings to manufacture in line with process specifications
- Manufacture connectors and connector inserts from raw components
- Handle and store chemicals for cleaning, priming, and moulding, strictly adhering to health and safety procedures
- Attend on-site, both in the UK and abroad, to assist customers with installation, testing, and monitoring of applications
- Test products and accurately record and document results
- Maintain all machinery and equipment to proper standards on a regular basis
- Maintain good housekeeping practices, ensuring the working environment is always customer-friendly
- Assist with training and job/product awareness for other staff within the Group
- Maintain the Group’s management behaviours practices and equal opportunity policy
