Allen Motor Group are currently looking to employ an Apprentice Vehicle Technician to join their Ford dealership in Gravesend. This is a full-time position offered as a 4-year Apprenticeship Agreement, Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week with a basic salary of £16,640. The role reports to the Aftersales Manager.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

As an Allen Motor Group Apprentice Vehicle Technician, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Learning and assisting in the diagnosis, testing, servicing, and repairing of motor vehicles, while constantly improving your technical skills and knowledge
  • Applying and interpreting technical service and repair data, including vehicles service literature and updates
  • Ensuring repaired vehicles comply with safety standards and manufacturer guidelines—recording non-conformance on the appropriate work request card
  • Accurately completing work request forms, including:
    • Damage reports
    • Mileage tracking
    • Chassis numbers
    • Clocking start/finish times as required
  • Fostering manufacturer warranty compliance
  • Ensuring proper accounting of parts used via:
    • Parts department invoices
    • Picking slips attached to work request cards
  • Maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe workshop as per Health and Safety policies
  • Attending college and completing apprenticeship coursework, including:
    • Examinations
    • Portfolios
  • Protecting customer vehicles with covers when stored or repaired
  • Safeguarding workshop tools and equipment, ensuring safe usage and reporting defects immediately
  • Investigating and reporting vehicle and component serviceability, supporting with:
    • Electronic vehicle health checks
    • Supporting documentation and video recordings
  • Adhering to all Health and Safety procedures—reporting any non-compliant behavior, including from colleagues
  • Performing any other reasonable duties as requested by your line manager
