About The Role
Join us on an exciting journey by becoming part of our outstanding Automation Apprentice Development Programme. You will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience about PLCs SCADA/HMI communicators. You will take on various challenges and opportunities, including new product development, new test processes Application programming interfaces and machine learning.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Automated Testing: Plan, schedule, conduct and co-ordinate assigned engineering work. To produce and comment; agreed contract documentation and User Requirement Specification.
- PLC – SCADA/HMI: You will be involved in designing and implementing HMI interfaces to ensure intuitive and user-friendly operation. Additionally, you will gain experience in developing and executing various PLC and SCADA programs, including Siemens and Allen Bradley systems, following (FDS) documents.
- Collaborate with Engineering Teams: Work alongside engineers to identify system improvement opportunities and suggest possible variations.
- Sales and Customer Support: Providing support to our sales teams internal and external customers. Liaising with new and existing customers/staffs through various communication methods in response to their queries.
- API Integration: Understanding of APIs and integrating them with Control systems and applications as per the assistance provided by the Senior Engineers. Help configure APIs to facilitate real-time data exchange for remote monitoring and analysis.
- Machine Learning: You will gain foundational knowledge of machine learning (ML) concepts, algorithms, and their applications in automation and control systems. To train and develop test standards for predictive analytics and process optimization.
- Networking: Gain hands-on experience in various network connections utilizing Physical and Software layers to ensure reliable communication between control systems and devices. Understanding of various network protocols (DDE, Suitelink, CRM).
- Support Documentation Efforts: To produce clear and detailed records of Flow Charts, CAD Drawings, Test Manuals, Site Test Manuals, Operation Manual in compliance with the standards advice in User Requirement Specification (URS). Ensure all approved documents are correctly recorded to the project and issued through to the customer for their record.

What You Need
- You will have achieved at least 5 GCSEs including Maths and English language at grade 4(C) or above
- Completed A Levels, BTEC or equivalent either on Computer science/Design/Automation or any related field
- Computer literacy: Microsoft Office: outlook, word and excel (must)
- Certification towards Python/Java/C/C++/SQL would be advantageous in this role.
Skills/Interest
- Logical thinking, willing to self-learn and research, and take a creative approach to problem solving
- Enjoy collaborating with others to find innovative solutions
- Ability to work independently, safely and responsibly; take ownership of challenges and ideas
- Familiar with Flow charts, CAD Drawings and image Processing
- You must be well organized and methodical.
