We have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Trading Standards Officer to join us!
This is a full-time, permanent role with hybrid working, and a salary of £30,193 to £34,104 per annum.

This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Apprentice Trading Standards Officer to join our Trading Standards team.
The Role
Trading Standards Officers work to protect residents, tackle rogue traders, support honest businesses and enforce a wide range of laws covering fair trading and consumer protection.
As an Apprentice Trading Standards Officer, you would work towards completing a level 6 Trading Standards Professional (TSP) apprenticeship over three years.

The TSP apprenticeship is modular in format so this role would combine academic study with practical, on-the-job experience, making sure you can work towards understanding the full breadth of trading standards legislation but with a particular focus on illegal vape related activities.
You will develop the skills and knowledge needed to investigate complaints, ensure legal compliance, and help safeguard local communities and businesses.
Reporting To The Trading Standards Team Leader, You Will
- Study towards completing a level 6 Trading Standards Professional (TSP) apprenticeship over three years
- Work towards gaining knowledge of the full breadth of trading standards legislation along with practical experience of law enforcement and administration
- Develop a particular expertise in illegal vape related legislation and enforcement activities
- Provide support to more experienced officers
- Contribute to the team’s business plan objectives
