Apprentice Trading Standards Officer -Level 6

About The Role

Have you got good interpersonal skills? Do you enjoy working with people and the public? Do you have a keen eye for detail and are you interested in problem solving? If so, read on.

Apprenticeship Overview

Our apprenticeships combine working in a great job with training, development and a competitive salary. You will be given dedicated time each week to focus on your studies and will have access to a network of colleagues and tutors to support your learning.

The Trading Standards apprenticeship is a 36 month opportunity to learn and to provide support to the Trading Standards team. Trading Standards is responsible for enforcing consumer protection laws covering many areas, from product safety to vapes and tobacco labelling, sales laws, misleading pricing, and weights and measures. Your duties will include a special role in assisting the team in enforcing the provisions that regulate tobacco and vapes, where many changes are being brought in from 2027. You will gain an understanding of the work of the team and will work in a supported learning environment while working towards a nationally recognised Level Trading Standards Professional (Tobacco and Vapes legislation) apprenticeship.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
