Role overview
Ripon Farm Services is a family owned multibranch agricultural dealer covering 13 sites within Yorkshire, Teesside, Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire. We are responsible for the sale and aftersales support of a wide range of agricultural and horticultural machinery and products, predominantly the exciting John Deere range of products.
We combine traditional values with modern technology to help our customers thrive in today’s fast-evolving farming and turf care industries.
We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity to join our Aftersales Team as a Turf Apprentice. This apprenticeship focuses on machinery used by golf courses, sports venues, local councils, landscapers, and country estates – all while developing the same core skills as an agricultural technician.
You’ll work alongside experienced colleagues in a busy workshop environment while completing formal training through John Deere and ProVQ. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for engineering and a strong desire to build a long-term career in the turf machinery industry.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
