Salary £24,521 Per Annum | Fixed term until 30/09/2030 | Full Time, 37 hours per week
We have an exciting opportunity to start your career at Lancashire County Council Fleet Services as one of our Apprentice Vehicle & Plant Technicians (HGV Mechanic) where you will get more than just an industry recognised qualification; you will gain skills that can set you up for life and pursue a career. Key Responsibilities
As an Apprentice Vehicle & Plant Technician you will gain practical experience repairing and maintaining a variety of heavy and light goods vehicles, plant machinery and a wide array of specialist equipment.
- Work experience at one of LCC’s five vehicle workshops makes up the largest segment of the apprenticeship, with college attendance at Lancaster Training Services (Heysham) to work towards achieving the Level 3 qualification Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician as part of your apprenticeship.

We are looking to recruit apprentices at one of our workshops at the following locations:
- Bamber Bridge Workshop – near Preston
- Network 65 Workshop – Hapton, Burnley
- Caton Workshop – near Lancaster
- Whalley Workshop – Whalley
- Thornton Workshop – Thornton-Cleveleys
The minimum age for applicants is 18 at the time of starting work.
