PK Motors ARC Ltd are proud to be in a position to offer multiple opportunities for new aspiring apprentices to join our business. This opportunity is open to everyone, with a desire to build a career in a specific trade and learn a unique skillset. The accident repair industry is forever changing, with the development of new technologies in vehicles from safety features to fuel management, and all that comes in between, you will find every day is a school day and you will never stop learning. It is a job that offers much satisfaction, as you see a vehicle in its worst state, and repair it back to its former glory. You will join a team of 25 staff, some starting out in their own apprenticeships, whilst others have seen the evolution of the repair industry over a span of 30 years. As a family-run business, we take great pride in ensuring our staff are looked after, so that in return our customers see the very best results, something we have been able to build and maintain for 51 years.
We are looking to add a further 4 apprentices in the following roles:
MET Apprenticeship (Mechanical, Electrical and Trim)
- This course is a 36-month course which will lead to a Level 3 Qualification, where you will become a Senior MET Technician, a minimum requirement for the British Standard and many manufacturers. The course will cover a broad range of topics specific to the role, from health & safety in the industry, through tools and equipment, removing and refitting of trims/panels, electrical components, air conditioning, SRS systems, ADAS systems, Steering and suspension, Glazing, Hybrid and Electrical Vehicles, Diagnostics, and much more.
Panel Apprenticeships
- This course is a 36-month course which will lead to a Level 3 Qualification, where you will become a Senior Panel Beater, a minimum requirement for the British Standard and many manufacturers. The course will cover a broad range of topics specific to the role, from health & safety in the industry, tools and equipment, vehicle construction, remove and refit of non-structural panels, materials and substrates, panel repair including filler application and shaping, pin pulling and planishing techniques, spot welding, MIG welding, cold join techniques, remove & refit welded panels, plastic repairs and plastic welding, remove and refit of complex electrical components and calibration procedures, Hybrid Electrical Vehicles, Hydraulic tools and equipment used for chassis alignment, large multi-faceted combination repairs, Jig Types, Loading and calibration of jigs, under and upper body measurements and alignment, and more.

Paint Apprenticeship
- This course is a 36-month course which will lead to a Level 3 Qualification, where you will become a Senior Paint Technician, a minimum requirement for the British Standard and many manufacturers. The course will cover a broad range of topics specific to the role from health & safety in the industry, basic & major tools and equipment, vehicle body types and identification of construction, substrate and materials identification, identifying and selecting abrasives, preparation of new panels/repaired panels/existing finishes, masking techniques, use of foundation materials and application, paint fault defects identification, topcoat preparation and application, maxing and matching of colours including straight, metallic and pearlescent, fade out techniques, tinted lacquers/matt finishes and 3-stage pearl, and more.
Preferred Benefits
If successful you will be put on your preferred apprenticeship, from a start date suitable to your current situation (whether that is right away or when your current school year completes). You will be contracted to 40 hours of work and study, which will all be onsite at our workshops in High Brooms. This will be broken into approximately 80% of practical work, including shadowing your mentor and actively working, with the other 20% utilised for uploading of work, and completing any theory work set by your Apprenticeship Tutor. You will earn the apprenticeship rate of £6.40 per hour (if 19 or over this will be for the first year of your apprenticeship, then rising to national minimum wage appropriate to your age bracket). You will also be entitled to 25 days holiday plus 8 statutory bank holidays, and after a successful probationary period you will become eligible for the following benefits:
