Apprenticeship Outcomes Manager
Full-time (35 hrs/week), fixed-term for up to 14 months (maternity cover) Split working location: Horizons (Reading, Berkshire) and Home Salary: £36,000–£38,000 per annum + benefits
We are seeking an experienced individual with a strong background in monitoring and reviewing apprentice progress to join our fast-paced and rewarding Apprenticeship Outcomes team.
About the Role
As an Apprenticeship Outcomes Manager, you will:
- Manage and continuously improve the achievement, retention, and success of one or more of the University’s apprenticeship programmes.
- Work collaboratively with employers, apprentices, and internal university teams.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks to apprentice progress, achievement, and timely completion.
- Line-manage a team of Apprenticeship Outcomes Officers, ensuring they are supported, motivated, and deliver a high-quality service.

This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on apprentice success while shaping and enhancing apprenticeship programme delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the successful outcomes of allocated apprenticeship programme(s), embedding a culture of continuous improvement to maximise achievement, retention, and timely completion.
- Ensure allocated programme(s) meet employer needs and expectations.
- Monitor and report performance against institutional objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Lead and oversee apprentice induction activities for allocated programmes, ensuring effective onboarding and support from the outset.
Main Requirements
- Experience in monitoring and reviewing apprentice progress.
- Knowledge of Safeguarding and Prevent Duty requirements.
- Ability to motivate and support your team to achieve and develop.
- Strong time management, organisational skills, and attention to detail.
