Role Description
The Approved Electrician will work on-site in Cambridge in a full-time capacity, delivering electrical installation, maintenance, and repair services on commercial and residential projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Installing and testing electrical systems, wiring, and equipment in line with relevant regulations and safety standards.
- Diagnosing faults, troubleshooting electrical issues, and completing corrective actions efficiently and safely.
- Carrying out routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and documentation of work performed.
- Coordinating with project managers, engineers, and other trades as needed.

The position requires adherence to health and safety procedures, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and customer service.
Qualifications
- Strong practical skills in electricity and electrical work, including safe handling of electrical systems and components.
- Experience in maintenance & repair activities, with the ability to perform routine servicing and corrective work on electrical installations.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical faults, diagnosing system issues, and implementing effective solutions.
- Foundational knowledge of electrical engineering principles relevant to building services and system design.
- Recognized electrical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) and current industry certifications; relevant inspection and testing qualifications are an advantage.
- Proven understanding of BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and applicable health and safety legislation.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications, with strong attention to detail and quality standards.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently on-site and manage time and tasks efficiently.
- Valid driving license and willingness to travel to client sites within the region as required.
