£39,152 - £44,075 per annum.

About the Role
Approved Mental Health Professionals (AMHPs) play a critical role in the operation of the Mental Health Act.
Notre Dame University (Improving Lives) is seeking two experienced Advanced Social Work Practitioners/Approved Mental Health Professionals to work in a 24-hour service, covering three 12-hour shifts per week.
This role supports a Countywide AMHP team, helping to fulfil Nottinghamshire County Council’s statutory duties under mental health legislation. You’ll work in a collaborative, strength-based approach to deliver high-quality mental health support.
Key responsibilities include:
- Implementing single-point triage systems for urgent cases.
- Providing training and supervision (including for AMHP trainees).
- Supporting team managers in coordinating services.
- Ensuring compliance with mental health legislation.

Key Responsibilities
- Meet statutory obligations under the Mental Health Act.
- Support, coach, and mentor colleagues across the mental health system.
- Train and supervise AMHP trainees and other professionals.
- Work flexibly to ensure 24/7 service coverage.
- Contribute to team and organisational development alongside managers.
- uphold safeguarding duties for vulnerable adults and children.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Must be a practising AMHP or holding the equivalent AMHP qualification.
- Social work or mental health degree required (preferably with postgraduate AMHP qualification).
- Must be competent in mental health legislation and best practice.
- Commitment to strengths-based, person-centred care.
- Availability to work a 12-hour shift pattern (rotating hybrid/onsite requirements).
