APRN Acute Care Fellow
The Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital fellowship is designed for both Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs) who are passionate about working with pediatrics. Applicants should have completed at least one pediatric clinical rotation, and additional pediatric-related extracurricular experiences are strongly preferred.
Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital is a premiere clinical and academic health system, providing expert pediatric care for infants, children and teens with some of the most challenging medical problems. Ranked in multiple specialties by U.S. News & World Report, we provide access to innovative treatments and therapies. With more than half of the 259 beds in our teaching hospital devoted to intensive care level services, we are the regional pediatric referral center for Florida's west coast. Physicians and community hospitals count on us to care for critically ill patients and perform complex surgical procedures.
The Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital Acute Care Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship is a one-year pediatric fellowship for clinicians credentialed as advanced practice providers (APPs) who are interested in gaining additional training. The fellow will be trained for a career as an acute care pediatric nurse practitioner or physician assistant with an emphasis on excellence in patient care, development of technical skills and clinical translational research.
The fellow will work under the mentored support of experienced APPs and specialty physicians, and will have access to didactic education, high fidelity simulated learning and inquiry opportunities in collaboration with the Johns Hopkins All Children’s physician residency program. The fellow will work in an academic inpatient setting and be exposed to ambulatory subspecialties, with rotations including pediatric hospital medicine,

As part of the training program, semi-annual performance evaluations and monthly meetings will occur throughout the year. The fellow also will participate in clinical skills exams.
The acute care advanced practice provider fellowship is designed for APPs seeking:
To bolster greater confidence in caring for medically complex and critically ill children Additional inpatient pediatrics training for a seamless transition into an acute care pediatric career Additional training in a specialty of choice for continued professional development
Fellowship Highlights
Length: 1 year, January 2027 - December 2027 or July 2026 - June 2027 Stipend: Training stipend $75,000 and full-time benefits provided Requirements: Candidates must be credentialed as an advanced practice provider Hours: 40-50 hours per week, including required night and weekend shifts
Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Eligibility/Requirements
Graduate of an accredited MSN or DNP program. APRN licensure and a Masters or Doctorate from an accredited Pediatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program. Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certification. BLS and PALS certification will be required prior to start date. Satisfactory background check
In order to be considered for the fellowship, all candidates must submit the following:
Current curriculum vitae (CV) Two letters of recommendation Clinical recommendation from a peer or physician Academic recommendation A one-page personal statement expressing his/her interests in pediatric acute care medicine and how this fellowship aligns with future career goals Note: Letters of reference and personal statement should be uploaded within the application and in a PDF format.
Physician Assistant Eligibility/Requirements
Graduation from an APAP (ARC-PA) approved Physician Assistant Training Program. Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. Florida license will be required prior to start date. BLS and PALS certification will be required prior to start date. Satisfactory background check

Salary Range: Minimum 36.06/hour - Maximum 36.06/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
